Man Arrested for Auto Care Center Burglary and Vehicle Theft in Carlisle

Police in Carlisle have arrested a local man in connection with a commercial burglary and vehicle theft at an automotive repair facility. The incident, which took place on Thursday, 5th September 2024, led to a rapid investigation that resulted in the recovery of stolen goods and the vehicle.

Officers were dispatched to the auto care center early in the morning after employees arrived to find a smashed window and signs of a break-in. A quick inventory revealed that several high-value mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment were missing. Furthermore, a customer's vehicle that had been left overnight for servicing was gone from the parking lot.

Through the use of surveillance footage and local intelligence, investigators identified the suspect and tracked him down later that afternoon. He was found in possession of the stolen vehicle and several of the missing tools. The suspect has been charged with burglary, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
