Man Charged Following £1,000 Tool Burglary at Canterbury Renovation Site

Detectives in Canterbury have charged a 56-year-old man in connection with a burglary at a residential property undergoing renovation in Westgate Grove.

The incident occurred on the night of Monday, May 13, 2024, at approximately 11:30 PM. Intruders forced entry into the building, stealing professional tools valued at more than £1,000.

An investigation was launched by detectives from the East Division Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Officers reviewed local closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage as part of their inquiries to trace the suspect's movements.

Following these investigations, police arrested a suspect on Friday, May 24, 2024. Ronald Day, of no fixed address, was subsequently charged with burglary. He was remanded in custody and scheduled to appear before the Folkestone Magistrates' Court.
