Violent robbery attempt at a Huntingdon residence

According to an article published by Huntspost on 27 May 2025, a man has been sentenced to 45 months in prison following a violent robbery attempt at a private home in Huntingdon. Tihomir Slavov, 37, was jailed at Huntingdon Law Courts on Friday, 23 May, after pleading guilty to charges including assault causing grievous bodily harm, attempted robbery, and burglary.

Huntspost reports that the incident occurred on 14 October 2022, when Slavov forced his way into his housemate's room. During a struggle, the victim was stabbed in the forearm, thigh, and face while Slavov attempted to steal his bank cards and mobile phone. The victim required hospital treatment for his injuries, which are expected to leave permanent scarring. Slavov had previously forced entry into the same room on 10 October 2022 to steal cigarettes. Detective Sergeant Kenny Reeves noted that the incident could have resulted in an even worse outcome given the use of a knife. Slavov was arrested by police on the same day as the final assault.
