According to an article published on 23 April 2026 by Grampianonline, a 33-year-old man named Colin Sutcliffe has been sentenced to three years and eight months in jail for a series of crimes committed in Buckie during 2025.

Grampianonline reports that the offender’s spree included two residential burglaries and a robbery at a local Post Office. The final incident occurred on 20 December 2025 at the Post Office on High Street. The perpetrator entered the premises wearing a mask and sunglasses, brandishing an eight-inch knife at the manager. After demanding money and threatening the staff member, he stole £1,400 before fleeing the scene.

Earlier in the year, Sutcliffe had targeted two homes in Buckie. In June, he entered a property on Milton Drive through an unsecured window, stealing a jewellery box. In October, he was discovered attempting to access a garage at a residence on Linn Avenue, where he had previously stolen cash, bank cards, and gaming consoles. Following his arrest and subsequent court proceedings, the sentence was backdated to 22 December 2025.
