According to an article published on 23 April 2026 by Grampianonline, a 33-year-old man named Colin Sutcliffe has been sentenced to three years and eight months in jail for a series of crimes committed in Buckie during 2025.

Grampianonline reports that the offenderโ€™s spree included two residential burglaries and a robbery at a local Post Office. The final incident occurred on 20 December 2025 at the Post Office on High Street. The perpetrator entered the premises wearing a mask and sunglasses, brandishing an eight-inch knife at the manager. After demanding money and threatening the staff member, he stole ยฃ1,400 before fleeing the scene.

Earlier in the year, Sutcliffe had targeted two homes in Buckie. In June, he entered a property on Milton Drive through an unsecured window, stealing a jewellery box. In October, he was discovered attempting to access a garage at a residence on Linn Avenue, where he had previously stolen cash, bank cards, and gaming consoles. Following his arrest and subsequent court proceedings, the sentence was backdated to 22 December 2025.
