Man reported following ram-raid at Livingston shopping centre
Ram-raid incident at The Centre in Livingston
According to an article published by Edinburghlive on 1 May 2026, a man has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with a series of incidents, including a ram-raid at The Centre in Livingston. The event occurred on 17 March 2026, when two vehicles approached the east entrance of the shopping centre. One of the vehicles crashed through bollards and a window, and the incident involved the wilful fire-raising of a car.
Edinburghlive reports that the individual is linked to seven incidents of theft by housebreaking and three of attempted theft by housebreaking, occurring between February and March 2026. These offences targeted various business premises, including post offices, convenience stores, and bookmakers across Edinburgh, Midlothian, West Lothian, and the Forth Valley. The reports also include two residential break-ins in Linlithgow and Bathgate.
Police Scotland confirmed that investigations into further offences are ongoing and expressed gratitude to the public for their assistance following earlier appeals for information. Business owners are encouraged to ensure that security bollards and perimeter defenses are regularly inspected and maintained to prevent unauthorized vehicle access.
