Man Robs and Attacks Woman in Front of Her Child at North Austin ATM

AUSTIN, Texas — Investigators with the Austin Police Department are appealing to the public for help in identifying a robbery suspect who attacked a woman at an ATM in North Austin. The unsettling incident occurred in broad daylight and in front of the victim's young child.

According to police reports, the woman was using an automated teller machine (ATM) when she was approached by an unidentified man. The suspect violently assaulted the woman, demanding cash and personal belongings. The victim's child witnessed the entire altercation from nearby, adding a layer of trauma to the event. The suspect took the cash and fled the area before police arrived.

The Austin Police Department has released a description of the suspect and is reviewing security camera footage from the bank and neighboring businesses. APD highlights the severity of the crime and urges anyone with information, dashboard camera footage from the area, or who may have witnessed suspicious activity near the North Austin ATM location on the afternoon of March 13 to contact their robbery division immediately.
