Man Shot and Wounded During Montclare Armed Robbery Near Fullerton and Grand

CHICAGO, IL — A violent armed robbery in Chicago's Montclare neighborhood turned critical on Sunday afternoon when a man was shot during a struggle with suspects, authorities said.

Chicago police officers responded to calls of shots fired in the vicinity of Fullerton Avenue and Grand Avenue at approximately 3:45 p.m. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.

Preliminary investigations indicate the victim was approached by at least two armed individuals who demanded his personal belongings. During the encounter, a physical altercation ensued, leading to one of the suspects discharging a firearm and striking the victim.

The victim was quickly transported by Chicago Fire Department paramedics to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in stable but serious condition. The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction and remain at large.
