Man wakes up during armed home invasion in Chicago's Garfield Park neighborhood

CHICAGO — Police are investigating a terrifying home invasion that took place early in the morning in Chicago's Garfield Park neighborhood, where a homeowner awoke to find armed intruders inside his residence.

According to Chicago police, the victim was sleeping when multiple armed suspects forced their way into the home. The victim woke up to the sound of intruders ransacking the property. When confronted, the suspects threatened the homeowner with firearms before fleeing the scene with stolen belongings.

Detectives are currently reviewing surveillance footage from surrounding properties in the Garfield Park area in hopes of identifying the suspects.
