Masked Suspects Target Kay Jewelers in Bristol Smash-and-Grab Heist

BRISTOL, Conn. — Police are searching for a group of masked suspects who targeted a Kay Jewelers store in Bristol during a brazen daytime smash-and-grab robbery on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. The incident, which caused significant damage, resulted in the theft of an undisclosed value of high-end jewelry.

According to the Bristol Police Department, several masked individuals entered the jewelry store brandishing a hammer. The suspects immediately proceeded to smash multiple glass display cases, grabbing necklaces, rings, and other valuable items before fleeing the scene in a waiting getaway vehicle.

Employees and customers inside the store at the time were left shaken but remained uninjured during the rapid ordeal. Police arrived shortly after the alarm was triggered and have secured the scene. Crime scene investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage from both inside the store and surrounding businesses on the commercial strip.
