Mass Flash Mob Burglarizes South Los Angeles AutoZone Store

An auto parts retailer in South Los Angeles became the target of a massive "flash mob" style burglary. Over several minutes, a large group of individuals completely overwhelmed the store's physical defenses and cleared out significant inventory.

Security Gate Ripped Down

The incident occurred late at night at an AutoZone location on South Broadway. Video footage captured a group of around 50 people descending on the storefront. Several suspects worked together to physically wrench and tear down the protective metal security gate. Once the barrier was breached, the crowd flooded inside, looting car parts, accessories, and electronics.

Police Appeal for Public Help

The Los Angeles Police Department has released portions of the surveillance and bystander videos in an effort to identify the participants. The store was left with extensive structural damage and empty shelves. Detectives are urging anyone with information about the suspects or the organization of the flash mob to contact them immediately.
