According to an article published by the BBC on 9 February 2026, an MBE medal was stolen during a residential burglary in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. The medal belonged to Mike Davies, the founder of The Principle Trust Children's Charity, who was appointed an MBE in 2018 for his services to business and disadvantaged children.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed that the medal was inside a safe that was taken from the property on the evening of Saturday, 7 February. Mr. Davies, who described the loss as heartbreaking, has appealed for information regarding the whereabouts of the medal. Police have requested that the public monitor online marketplaces in case the item is offered for sale and have asked anyone with relevant information to come forward.
