Memphis Police Crack Down on String of Armed Gas Station Robberies Across the City

MEMPHIS, Tennessee — Law enforcement authorities in Memphis are actively investigating and making arrests following a wave of armed robberies and assaults targeting local gas stations across the city.

In recent months, the Memphis Police Department has responded to numerous incidents at convenience stores, including an attempted heist in the Hickory Hill neighborhood and an armed robbery in southeast Memphis where an employee was held at gunpoint. Police have released surveillance footage from several of these crimes in an appeal to the public for help identifying the suspects involved.

Key breakthroughs in these investigations include the arrest of a suspect linked to five separate gas station robberies within a single month. In another case, a 17-year-old suspect was apprehended and tied to a gas station assault after officers recovered a stolen firearm. Additionally, a duo was taken into custody for targeting the same gas station twice, with investigators noting the suspects shockingly brought young children along during one of the offenses.

The Memphis Police Department urges store owners to remain vigilant and ensure surveillance systems are fully operational as detectives continue to track down remaining suspects in these ongoing cases.
