Mower County Teenager Charged with Double Burglary and Assault in Rochester Home Invasion

ROCHESTER, Minn. — A teenager from nearby Mower County has been charged in Olmsted County District Court after allegedly targeting a Rochester home for two separate burglaries and assaulting the residents inside.

According to the criminal complaint, the teen first broke into the residence and confronted the occupants, demanding valuables. He returned to the same home shortly after to commit a second burglary, during which a physical altercation broke out. The homeowners suffered injuries while defending themselves and attempting to hold the suspect until police arrived.

Officers arrested the teenager at the scene. He now faces multiple felony charges, including first-degree burglary, second-degree burglary, and multiple counts of domestic assault and battery.

Due to the severe nature of the offenses and the repeated targeting of the victims, prosecutors are seeking significant bail. The victims are recovering from their injuries, and local community advocates are emphasizing the importance of home security systems and neighborhood watch programs.
