Multi-City Drugging Ring: How Police Tracked a Rolex Thief Across Miami, Doral, and Miami Beach
MIAMI, Florida — A sophisticated multi-agency investigation has led to the arrest of a woman accused of operating a systematic drugging and theft scheme that spanned across several of South Florida's most popular nightlife destinations, including Miami, Doral, and Miami Beach. Local police departments collaborated closely to track down the suspect, who targeted affluent men, slipping incapacitating substances into their drinks before stripping them of high-value Rolex watches and cash.
According to police reports, the suspect's pattern of operation was remarkably consistent across all three municipal jurisdictions. She frequented high-end hotel lounges, nightclubs, and upscale restaurants, identifying targets wearing luxury timepieces. Investigators detail that the suspect would engage the victims in conversation, establish rapport, and eventually find an opportunity to surreptitiously administer a strong sedative, believed to be clonazepam or another fast-acting pharmaceutical downer, into their alcoholic beverages when they were distracted.
The tracking of the suspect required a coordinated effort between the Miami Police Department, the Doral Police Department, and the Miami Beach Police Department. Detectives relied heavily on digital forensics and modern surveillance infrastructure. License plate readers (LPRs) played a crucial role in tracking the suspect's getaway vehicles across city lines. Additionally, investigators subpoenaed records from rideshare companies and reviewed hundreds of hours of high-definition security footage from the venues where the victims were targeted.
In one Doral incident, the victim was drugged inside a luxury hotel bar before the suspect accompanied him back to his room to complete the theft. In Miami Beach, a similar incident occurred after a night out at a VIP lounge. The seamless sharing of intelligence between the different police departments allowed detectives to link the cases, identify the suspect's vehicle, and map her movement patterns, culminating in a tactical arrest as she attempted to target another victim.
