Multiple caravans broken into at storage site in Rochdale
Series of break-ins reported at Rochdale caravan site
According to an article published by the Manchester Evening News on 28 December 2025, approximately 45 caravans were broken into at the G&H Taylor Caravan Storage facility off Todmorden Road in Littleborough, Rochdale. The incident occurred on the night of Saturday, 27 December.
According to the site operator, Bentley Taylor, the facility is equipped with CCTV, a security fence, and electric gates, yet intruders managed to access roughly half of the 80 caravans on the premises. While some personal items, including coins and shoes, were reportedly taken, the primary impact was extensive damage to the vehicles, which included shredded covers and broken doors. One owner reported that their caravan had been left in a state of disarray.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed they were called to the scene following reports of the burglaries. Officers attended the location, and investigations into the incident are currently ongoing. The site operator noted that while there have been security issues in the past, an event of this scale is unprecedented.
Ensure that all storage facilities are equipped with robust, regularly maintained security systems and conduct frequent site inspections to deter unauthorized access.
