Newtownabbey Service Station ATM Stolen Amid PSNI Robbery Probe

Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland are investigating the theft of an ATM from a service station in Newtownabbey. The incident, which occurred in December 2025, has sparked a wider probe into criminal activity at the location, which was also the target of an attempted robbery.

Police responded to a report of a break-in and theft at the commercial premises. Upon arrival, officers established that an automated teller machine (ATM) had been successfully targeted and removed from the site. The raid has caused significant disruption to the local business and raised concerns among community members regarding commercial security.

A PSNI spokesperson stated: "We are actively investigating the theft of an ATM at a Newtownabbey service station. We are also looking into a linked attempted robbery at the same location to determine if the same gang is responsible." Detectives are reviewing security camera footage from the station and surrounding roads in an effort to trace the vehicles used by the thieves.

Police are urging business owners to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity around ATMs. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage from the area on the night of December 11, 2025, is asked to contact detectives immediately on 101, or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
