Nine Arrested and Hundreds of Stolen Propane Tanks Recovered After AmeriGas Theft in Adelanto

ADELANTO, Calif. — A major investigation into a commercial theft at the AmeriGas facility in Adelanto has culminated in the arrest of nine individuals and the recovery of hundreds of stolen propane tanks, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

The investigation was launched after AmeriGas management reported the theft of a large inventory of propane tanks from their facility. Deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff's Station launched a comprehensive probe, tracking the stolen assets across several locations in the region. The theft was suspected to have been carried out by an organized group looking to resell the cylinders on the black market.

Following coordinated searches and surveillance, law enforcement officers recovered hundreds of the stolen propane tanks. Nine suspects were arrested in connection with the theft ring and booked on multiple charges, including commercial burglary, grand theft, and possession of stolen property. The successful recovery of the tanks prevents significant financial losses for the business, and authorities are continuing to investigate whether additional accomplices were involved in the operation.
