Nottingham Police Called to Early-Morning Burglary Uncover Sophisticated Cannabis Factory

A police response to an early-morning burglary report in Nottingham city centre led to the discovery of a sophisticated cannabis factory containing over 300 plants.

Nottinghamshire Police officers were dispatched to a property on Brook Street at approximately 03:15 BST on Wednesday, 18 June 2025, following reports of an ongoing break-in. However, when officers arrived to search the premises, they found no sign of the reported intruders. Instead, they uncovered a large-scale drug cultivation operation.

The property had been converted into a drugs factory, with lines of cannabis plants growing across three separate rooms. Officers also discovered cuts of harvested cannabis in the kitchen. To power the extensive heating and lighting systems required for the crop, the property's electricity supply had been bypassed, creating a significant fire hazard.

A police spokesperson confirmed that more than 300 cannabis plants were seized from the address. An investigation has been launched to identify those responsible for the cultivation, and police are appealing for anyone with information about suspicious activity at the property to contact them.
