Oakland Armed Robbery Attempt Triggers Police Pursuit and Hayward Crash

An attempted armed robbery in Oakland escalated into a high-speed police pursuit that crossed city limits and ended in a multi-vehicle crash in neighboring Hayward. The violent chain of events began when suspects attempted an armed hold-up in Oakland before fleeing from responding officers.

As Oakland Police attempted to intercept the suspect vehicle, the driver sped off, prompting a pursuit due to the violent nature of the attempted crime. The chase continued onto local freeways and/or arterial streets, eventually ending when the suspects collided with other vehicles at a busy intersection in Hayward.

Following the crash, law enforcement officers quickly surrounded the vehicle and took the suspects into custody. Several individuals involved in the collision were evaluated for minor injuries. Investigators are working to recover the weapons used in the initial robbery attempt and compile charges for both the robbery and the dangerous pursuit.
