Odessa Resident Arrested for Stealing Cellphone at Gunpoint

ODESSA, Texas — A local Odessa resident has been arrested and accused of stealing a cellphone at gunpoint following an armed confrontation on December 2, 2025. The suspect is facing charges of aggravated robbery.

Police reports indicate that the suspect brandished a firearm during the incident, pointing it directly at the victim while demanding their personal mobile device. The victim, fearing for their life, handed over the phone, and the suspect subsequently fled the area. Officers arrived on the scene, took the victim's statement, and began a search of the surrounding neighborhood.

Through follow-up investigations, Odessa police identified the suspect and took them into custody. The suspect was booked into the local jail pending formal charges. The weapon allegedly used in the robbery was recovered by law enforcement. The victim did not sustain any physical injuries during the incident.
