One Injured, Suspect Arrested Following Home Invasion and Shooting in Salina

SALINA, Kansas — A violent confrontation inside a Salina home has left one person hospitalized with injuries and another in police custody following reports of gunfire early Tuesday afternoon.

According to authorities, officers with the Salina Police Department rushed to a residential neighborhood on March 10, 2026, after receiving multiple urgent calls reporting active gunshots. Upon entering the residence, officers discovered an injured victim suffering from trauma related to the incident. Emergency medical services were immediately dispatched to the scene to transport the individual to a local medical center for treatment.

Witnesses at the scene reported a chaotic environment as law enforcement quickly secured the perimeter. Investigators determined that a break-in had occurred prior to the discharge of the firearm. A suspect was located near the scene shortly after the arrival of officers and was arrested without further incident.
