One Suspect Remains at Large Following Violent Carney Avenue Home Invasion in Rockford
ROCKFORD, Ill. โ Authorities in Rockford are asking for the public's assistance as detectives continue to hunt for a suspect involved in a violent home invasion that took place earlier this year.
The incident occurred on February 1, 2026, when multiple armed suspects forced their way into a home located in the 1800 block of Carney Avenue. According to the Rockford Police Department, the intruders battered the residents inside the home before stealing personal property and fleeing the scene. The victims sustained minor injuries during the assault.
Following a swift investigation, Rockford Police Gang and Narcotics Units identified several suspects in connection with the crime. On February 6, 2026, officers successfully apprehended 26-year-old Jalan Glover and took him into custody. Glover was charged with home invasion and armed robbery and is being held in the Winnebago County Jail.
However, gang detectives report that a second suspect, identified as 24-year-old Freemon Hubbard, remains at large. Police have active warrants for Hubbard's arrest in relation to the incident. A third suspect, Antwon Glover, has also been named as part of the ongoing investigation, during which officers executed a search warrant and recovered two loaded handguns.
