One Teenager Dead, Another Detained After Attempted Armed Robbery Ends in Violence in Florence

FLORENCE, South Carolina — An attempted armed robbery on Thursday turned fatal, leaving one teenager dead and another behind bars, according to the Florence Police Department.

Officers responded to the scene following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered a male teenager suffering from critical gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts by emergency medical services, the youth was pronounced dead at the scene.

During the preliminary investigation, detectives determined that the shooting occurred during a botched robbery attempt involving multiple teenagers.
