Orlando Pastor's Wife Dies Days After Brutal Home Invasion; Assailant to Face Upgraded Charges

ORLANDO, Fla. — An 85-year-old Orlando woman has died in the hospital days after being brutally beaten during a home invasion. The victim, identified by family members as the wife of a local pastor, succumbed to the severe injuries she sustained during the attack.

According to police, the suspect gained entry into the victim's home by impersonating a police officer. Once inside, the suspect assaulted the elderly woman and ransacked the home. The victim fought for her life in critical condition before passing away surrounded by her family and congregation members.

The suspect, who was arrested shortly after the incident, was initially charged with attempted murder, home invasion, and impersonating an officer. Following the victim's death, the Orlando Police Department and prosecutors confirmed that the charges will be upgraded to murder. The community has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss.
