Overnight Commercial Burglary Under Investigation at Hampton Piggly Wiggly

HAMPTON, VA — The Hampton Police Department is actively investigating a commercial burglary that took place at the Piggly Wiggly grocery store.

According to investigators, the burglary occurred during the overnight hours when the business was closed to the public. The perpetrators forced entry through one of the access points of the building. Once inside, they targeted specific areas of the grocery store before departing with stolen goods and property.

Store management is working alongside the police to conduct a full inventory audit to determine the exact extent of the losses. Police forensic teams have processed the scene for physical and digital evidence, including security camera recordings.
