Overnight Looting Follows Fourth Day of Anti-ICE Protests in Downtown Los Angeles; Mayor Bass Blames Federal Raids

LOS ANGELES, CA — Tensions boiled over in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles overnight as a series of commercial businesses were targeted by looters following a fourth consecutive day of large-scale demonstrations protesting federal immigration enforcement actions.

The protests, which initially began as peaceful marches opposing recent operations by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), turned volatile late into the evening. Authorities reported that groups of opportunists split from the main body of demonstrators, shattering storefront windows and raiding several retail establishments along major downtown corridors.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass addressed the escalating situation in a press briefing, expressing strong concern over the destruction of local property while simultaneously pointing to the root cause of the community's unrest.
