Palestine Action activists cleared of burglary at Bristol site
Legal outcome following Elbit Systems site break-in
According to an article published on 4 February 2026 by Bristolpost, six Palestine Action activists have been cleared of aggravated burglary charges. The case followed a break-in at the Elbit Systems factory in Bristol during the early hours of 6 August 2024.
Bristolpost reports that the defendants, who wore red jumpsuits during the incident, admitted to entering the factory without permission and damaging equipment, including computers and drones. Prosecutors had alleged that the group used a prison van to breach the perimeter fence and employed sledgehammers during the raid. While the jury acquitted the six of aggravated burglary, they were unable to reach a verdict regarding charges of criminal damage. Additionally, no verdict was reached on allegations of violent disorder and grievous bodily harm against certain defendants.
The trial heard that the activists intended to cause damage to the facility to support the Palestinian cause. The jury deliberated for over 36 hours before delivering the acquittals.
Businesses should ensure that perimeter security measures are regularly inspected and reinforced to deter unauthorized access.
