Violent robbery at Darlington petrol station
According to Chroniclelive, two men have been sentenced to prison following a violent robbery at a petrol station in Darlington. The incident occurred in the early hours of 8 January 2026.
The court heard that Daniel Davis and John Wilson targeted the business after a dispute regarding a meal deal. The two men, who were intoxicated, forced their way into the premises after the staff member was unable to meet their demands. During the ensuing struggle, the lone employee was struck with a metal pole and stabbed five times, sustaining injuries to his liver, sternum, and arms.
Davis and Wilson appeared before Teesside Crown Court, where both entered guilty pleas for robbery and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. The victim required medical treatment, including plastic surgery for a significant arm wound, following the assault.
Business owners are encouraged to ensure that all access points, including staff doors and night hatches, remain securely locked at all times to prevent unauthorized entry.
