Pharmacy burglary in Carlisle
According to an article published on 24 February 2026, a man has admitted to burgling a pharmacy in Carlisle. Cumbriacrack reports that 35-year-old Ben Wiggins appeared at the cityโs magistratesโ court after entering the Well Pharmacy on Blackwell Road in the early hours of Sunday, February 22.
According to Cumbriacrack, the break-in occurred at approximately 2am. A neighbour alerted the police after hearing banging and witnessing a man kick a window and emerge from the premises with a bag of prescription medication, valued at around ยฃ200. Wiggins was identified at the scene and subsequently arrested.
In addition to the burglary, Wiggins pleaded guilty to two separate shop thefts involving food and drinks from local retailers in January. The court has adjourned the case for a pre-sentence report, with sentencing scheduled for 23 March. Wiggins has been granted bail with conditions prohibiting him from entering the affected business premises.
Business owners are encouraged to ensure their alarm systems are fully functional and regularly tested to provide early notification of unauthorized entry.
