Police Appeal After Break-In at Charity Warehouse in Liverpool
Merseyside Police are appealing for information following a break-in at a charity warehouse in Liverpool. The incident, which has caused significant disruption to the charity's operations during the busy festive season, took place in the lead-up to Christmas.
Officers were called to the scene after staff discovered that the premises had been breached. Unidentified individuals forced entry into the warehouse, causing damage to the physical structure of the building and stealing several items intended for distribution to those in need.
The charity, which plays a vital role in supporting vulnerable members of the local community, is now facing unexpected costs to repair the damage and replace the stolen goods. Police are conducting forensic examinations of the site and reviewing local CCTV footage to identify the suspects.
Inspector Keith Thompson of Merseyside Police commented: "This is a particularly callous crime, targeting an organisation that dedicates itself to helping others, especially at this time of year. We are determined to find those responsible and bring them to justice. We urge anyone who was in the area and saw anything suspicious, or who has dashcam footage from the vicinity, to contact us immediately."
Community leaders have expressed outrage at the incident, calling for local residents to support the charity during this challenging period. Anyone with information is asked to contact Merseyside Police via their social media desk or by calling Crimestoppers anonymously.
