Police Appeal After Spar Robbery and Assault in Swansea

SWANSEA, Wales — Detectives in Swansea have launched an appeal to identify and locate a man following a robbery and assault at a local Spar convenience store in late January 2026.

The incident occurred when an unidentified male entered the Spar store and threatened staff. According to police reports, the suspect proceeded to assault a store worker before fleeing the scene with a quantity of cash and goods. The employee sustained minor physical injuries but was left shaken by the violence of the encounter.

South Wales Police have released details of the suspect and are actively reviewing security footage from the shop and neighboring businesses. Neighborhood policing teams have also increased patrols in the area to reassure local businesses and shoppers.

“This was a cowardly attack on a retail worker who was simply doing their job,” a police spokesperson said. “We are urging anyone who was in the vicinity at the time, or who recognizes the description of the individual, to contact us immediately. Any information, no matter how small, could prove vital to our investigation.”
