Police Appeal for Witnesses After Commercial Burglary on Duke Street in Derry

Police in Derry/Londonderry are appealing for information and witnesses following a commercial burglary in the Duke Street area of the city. The break-in, which occurred over the weekend of March 15, 2026, has raised concerns among the local business community.

Officers discovered the incident shortly after 7:20 am on Sunday, March 15, when it was reported that a window had been smashed to gain entry to the business premises. Detectives believe the entry was gained overnight. A forensic examination of the scene has been carried out, and police are working with the shop owner to confirm if any stock or cash was taken during the intrusion.

The PSNI is appealing to anyone who may have been in the Duke Street area late Saturday night or early Sunday morning and noticed any suspicious activity to come forward. "We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has CCTV, dash-cam, or mobile phone footage from the area around the time of the break-in," a police spokesperson stated.
