Police Hunt Masked Heist Gang After Attempted ATM Raids in Glasgow and Edinburgh

Police Scotland have launched a major investigation after a series of coordinated attempted ATM thefts targeted supermarkets in both Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The gang, consisting of four masked men wearing dark clothing and face coverings, targeted the retail locations in the early hours. In Glasgow, the brazen raid left a supermarket storefront with a gaping hole where the thieves attempted to rip the cash machine from its foundations. Despite causing extensive structural damage to the buildings, the gang was unsuccessful in retrieving the cash reserves and fled the scene empty-handed.

Detectives believe the same organized group is responsible for both the Glasgow and Edinburgh incidents due to the matching descriptions of the suspects and the similar methods used. Forensic teams have been deployed to examine the damaged sites, and officers are conducting extensive reviews of local CCTV footage to trace the escape route of the getaway vehicle.

Law enrichment authorities have appealed to the public for any information, dashcam footage, or suspicious activity reports from near the targeted supermarkets around the time of the incidents to assist in identifying the suspects.
