Police Investigate Armed Robbery at West El Paso Convenience Store

EL PASO, Texas — Detectives with the El Paso Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons unit are actively investigating an aggravated robbery that occurred at a DK convenience store on the city's West Side, officials reported.

The incident took place on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the DK store located in West El Paso. According to initial police reports, a suspect entered the retail store, displayed a weapon, and demanded cash from the clerk on duty. The employee complied with the demands, and the suspect fled the scene on foot before officers arrived. No physical injuries were reported among the staff or customers present during the encounter.

Responding officers immediately conducted a search of the surrounding area, but the suspect remains at large. Police have released a description of the individual, describing them as wearing dark clothing and a face mask to conceal their identity. Investigators are currently analyzing surveillance footage from the store’s high-definition security cameras to gather more detailed physical characteristics.
