Police Release Surveillance Photos of Suspect in Armed Roanoke Bank Robbery

ROANOKE, VA — The Roanoke Police Department is searching for a suspect following an armed bank robbery that occurred on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 13, 2025. Federal and local authorities have joined forces to investigate the crime and have released surveillance photos to the public.

According to police, the armed robbery occurred at a bank branch located in the city of Roanoke. The suspect entered the lobby, brandished a handgun, and demanded money from the tellers. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the building. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Following the robbery, law enforcement officers established a perimeter and searched the surrounding area, utilizing K-9 units and helicopter support. Despite their efforts, the suspect remains at large. To aid in the search, investigators have released several clear surveillance images capturing the suspect during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a male of medium build, last seen wearing a dark baseball cap, sunglasses, a face mask, and a gray long-sleeved shirt. He is considered armed and dangerous.
