Police Search for Suspects After Woman Robbed Outside Chase Bank on Hopyard Road

PLEASANTON, California — A police search is underway for two suspects involved in a brazen daytime robbery outside a local financial institution, which culminated in a high-speed vehicle pursuit through Pleasanton streets and onto Interstate 580 on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:17 p.m. outside the Chase Bank branch located at 4747 Hopyard Road. According to the Pleasanton Police Department, the female victim had just completed a cash withdrawal from an automated teller machine (ATM) inside the vestibule and was walking toward her vehicle when she was approached by a male suspect. The suspect forcibly snatched the woman's tote bag, wallet, and the envelope containing her cash. He then sprinted to a nearby vehicle, which immediately sped away from the parking lot.

Witnesses described the getaway car as a black Dodge Charger with heavily tinted windows, a broken rear-left window covered in plastic, and no license plates. The following day, Sunday, March 15, patrol officers spotted a vehicle matching this description in the vicinity of Santa Rita Road and Stoneridge Drive. When officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the driver accelerated, leading police on a pursuit onto westbound Interstate 580.

Due to the high speeds and reckless driving of the suspects, officers lost visual contact with the vehicle near Eden Canyon Road. An extensive search of the surrounding canyon and hillsides was conducted with the assistance of an East Bay Regional Parks helicopter and ground deputies from the Alameda County Sheriff's Office, but the vehicle was not located. The primary suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 20 to 21 years old, standing 5 feet 7 inches tall, and weighing around 155 pounds. The driver of the Charger remains unidentified. Police are asking anyone with relevant dashcam footage or information to contact investigators.
