Portland Furniture Warehouse Ransacked After Fake 'Free' Sign Lures Looters
PORTLAND, OR โ An unusual incident of mass looting transpired at a local furniture warehouse in Portland after a fraudulent "free" sign was placed outside the property, prompting dozens of members of the public to clear out the building's inventory.
The warehouse, which contained valuable staging furniture, decor items, and storage materials, was quickly overwhelmed by individuals who believed they were participating in a legitimate giveaway. Witnesses reported seeing people loading trucks, vans, and passenger vehicles with couches, tables, and chairs.
Confusion and Looting Follow Fake Signage
According to reports, the business owner was alerted to the situation by neighbors who noticed the chaotic scene. By the time police and representatives arrived, the warehouse had been thoroughly ransacked, resulting in the loss of thousands of dollars worth of commercial furniture.
