Prowler Call in Chico Leads to Burglary Arrest

CHICO, California — A resident's call reporting a suspicious prowler on their property led Chico police officers directly to a suspect who was subsequently arrested for active burglary.

According to the Chico Police Department, officers responded to a residential area in the midday hours after receiving a report of an unidentified individual looking into windows and attempting to open doors. Upon arrival, officers located a suspect matching the description provided by the caller.

Further investigation at the scene revealed that the individual had already made entry into at least one nearby property and was in possession of suspected stolen goods. The suspect was arrested on the spot and faces charges of residential burglary and possession of stolen property.

Police officials commended the alert neighbor for calling in the suspicious activity, emphasizing that quick reporting is key to preventing burglaries and helping officers catch suspects in the act.
