Ram raid at a Co-op supermarket in Winchester

According to an article published on 22 May 2024 by Dailyecho, a Co-op convenience store in Winchester was targeted in a ram raid. Intruders broke down the store's doors, causing significant damage that required the front of the building to be boarded up.

Dailyecho reports that despite the forced entry, the intruders managed to steal only a single can of Red Bull and an empty cash drawer. The store's security measures, including a smoke cloak, were deployed during the incident, which occurred at approximately 3am. Local residents reported hearing glass shattering before the alarm was triggered.

The supermarket has since reopened to the public. Hampshire Police are currently investigating the incident and have issued an appeal for witnesses. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police at 101, quoting incident number 44240212299.
