Three men arrested following West Byfleet ram raid

According to an article published by the BBC on 30 January 2025, three men have been arrested following a ram raid at a jewellery store in West Byfleet, Surrey. Surrey Police reported that a stolen vehicle was used to repeatedly reverse into the front of Brooklands Jewellers on Old Woking Road.

The suspects, who were wearing face coverings, entered the premises and removed high-value items from the window display. Following an area search involving a police helicopter and dog unit, three men aged 29, 38, and 44 were arrested on suspicion of burglary, robbery, and driving offences. One suspect was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident. Surrey Police has made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct and is currently appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant CCTV footage to come forward.

Business owners are encouraged to review their security measures, including the installation of reinforced shopfronts and high-quality alarm systems, to deter potential intruders.
