Ram raid at Co-op supermarket in Plympton

Ram raid reported at Plympton supermarket

According to Plymouthlive, a Co-op supermarket located on Glen Road in Plympton was targeted in a ram raid in the early hours of Monday, 2 February 2026. Reports indicate that raiders used a farm vehicle to smash a hole through the wall of the building at approximately 1.45am.

Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that cash was stolen during the incident. Officers attended the scene, which was subsequently cordoned off to allow for an investigation. Photographs taken at the location show significant structural damage to the wall and a telehandler abandoned within the police cordon. Witnesses described seeing debris scattered across the area.

The store remains closed while enquiries continue. Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing for anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage to contact the force by calling 101 or reporting online, quoting reference 50260027042.

Business owners are encouraged to review their perimeter security and consider installing robust bollards or physical barriers to prevent unauthorized vehicle access to their premises.
