According to an article published on 12 January 2026 by Stokesentinel, police are investigating a ram-raid at the Cedar Avenue Co-op in Kidsgrove. The incident occurred at 3am on Friday, 9 January, when an ATM was removed from the store using a JCB Telehandler.
Stokesentinel reports that the perpetrators fled the scene in a white van and a silver VW Golf. Both vehicles had been reported stolen prior to the raid; the van was taken from the Audley Road area of Kidsgrove at approximately 2am on 9 January, while the car was stolen from Cheshire in early October. Later that morning, at 9:10am, firefighters discovered both vehicles burnt out at Apedale Country Park. Police are now linking these torched vehicles to the supermarket burglary.
