Ram-raid burglary at a petrol station in Glanaman

According to an article published on 31 May 2025 by Southwalesguardian, a man has been sentenced to 31 months in prison following a series of burglaries in Carmarthenshire. Among the offences was a ram-raid at the Petro Express petrol station on Cwmamman Road in Glanaman.

Southwalesguardian reports that the perpetrator, identified as Ryan Thomas, used a stolen Volvo S80 to repeatedly strike the shop's shutters after failing to lift them manually. During the incident, which occurred shortly after 4am, the individual was seen wearing a plastic bag over his head to mask his identity. Once inside, he stole cigarettes, alcohol, and cash from the tills before fleeing the scene. The damage caused to the petrol station premises was estimated at £17,820.

The investigation linked Thomas to the crime through forensic evidence and doorbell camera footage. In addition to the prison sentence, the defendant received a driving ban of five years and three months. Business owners are encouraged to reinforce entry points and install high-quality security shutters to deter ram-raid attempts.
