Ram-raid burglary at a supermarket in Longridge
According to an article published by Lancashirepost on 14 March 2025, a supermarket in Longridge was targeted in a ram-raid burglary. Thieves used a JCB digger to smash into the Co-op store located on Berry Lane shortly before 3am.
Lancashirepost reports that the perpetrators dragged an ATM out of the wall during the incident. Police officers arrived at the scene to find the JCB digger, which is believed to have been stolen, abandoned and blocking the road. The suspects reportedly fled the area using another vehicle. The road remained closed until approximately 9am while authorities recovered the machinery and secured the premises.
As of the time of the report, no arrests have been made and the cash machine has not been recovered. Lancashire Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to contact them quoting log 0108 of March 14.
Business owners are encouraged to review their perimeter security and consider installing bollards or reinforced barriers to prevent vehicle-based access to storefronts.
