Ram-raid burglary at Almondvale Shopping Centre in Livingston

Ram-raid incident at Almondvale Shopping Centre

According to an article published on 17 March 2026 by Edinburghlive, police are investigating a ram-raid incident that occurred at the Almondvale Shopping Centre in Livingston. At approximately 12.15am on Tuesday, 17 March, four masked males arrived at the scene in a black Nissan Juke and a white Audi S5.

Edinburghlive reports that the suspects smashed an external display window before reversing the Nissan Juke through bollards and glass doors to gain entry to the centre. The group proceeded to steal several rails of designer clothing, which were loaded into the Audi. One suspect subsequently set the Nissan Juke on fire before the group fled the scene in the Audi. Emergency services attended to extinguish the vehicle fire. The Audi was later recovered near Dechmont with a quantity of the stolen property inside, though the suspects remain at large. Detective Inspector Lee Beaumont stated that the operation was carefully planned and involved suspects armed with various tools. Police are urging anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to contact them via 101, quoting incident number 0052 of 17 March, 2026.

Business owners are encouraged to review their security measures, including the installation of reinforced bollards and high-definition surveillance systems, to deter ram-raid attempts.
