Ram-raid incident at Almondvale Shopping Centre

According to an article published by the Dailyrecord on 17 March 2026, police in Livingston are investigating a ram-raid at the Almondvale Shopping Centre. The incident occurred at approximately 12:15 am on Tuesday, 17 March, when a black Nissan Juke and a white Audi S5 approached the east side of the facility.

Dailyrecord reports that four masked men smashed an external display window before using the Nissan Juke to break through glass doors. The suspects entered a shop and removed several rails of designer clothing. One of the vehicles was subsequently set on fire, while the suspects fled the scene in the Audi. The Audi was later recovered near Dechmont with a portion of the stolen goods inside.

Detective Inspector Lee Beaumont stated that the suspects were armed and wore dark clothing. While no injuries were reported, extensive enquiries are ongoing to determine the total value of the stolen items. Authorities are appealing for anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to contact the police quoting incident number 0052 of 17 March 2026.

Business owners are encouraged to review their security measures, including the installation of reinforced bollards and high-quality surveillance systems, to deter unauthorized vehicle access.
