Incident in the Reid Avenue area

According to an article published on 24 January 2026 by Dailyrecord, a masked gang broke into a private home in the Reid Avenue area of Dunbar. The incident, which reportedly took place on the evening of Friday, 23 January, involved a group of individuals dressed in black who were seen loading items into a white car.

Dailyrecord reports that a woman from a neighboring property confronted the group during the break-in. Footage of the event shows the woman being surrounded by three individuals, one of whom allegedly kicked her on the leg. The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle with the boot partially open.

The homeowner stated that the property was damaged and that a safe containing business takings, along with personal jewelry, was stolen. The owners operate a shop within the town. Police Scotland has been approached for comment regarding the investigation.
