Residential burglary and car theft in Livingston

According to an article published on 18 June 2025 by the Scotsman, police in West Lothian are appealing for information following a burglary at a private home in Livingston. The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, 16 June, at a property on Chuckethall Place.

The Scotsman reports that two men entered the home at approximately 3:40 am and subsequently stole a blue Volkswagen Golf from the premises. The vehicle was later recovered by police near Kimmerghame Path in Edinburgh at around 5:10 am the same morning.

Detective Sergeant John Irvine has requested that anyone who was in the vicinity of Chuckethall Place or Kimmerghame Path on Monday morning, or those with relevant dash-cam footage, contact Police Scotland. Enquiries remain ongoing to identify the two individuals responsible for the break-in. Members of the public with information are encouraged to call 101, quoting incident number 0397 of 16 June, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously.

Ensure all doors and windows are securely locked at night and consider installing motion-sensor lighting to deter unauthorized access to your property.
