Residential burglary in Camberwell
Armed home invasion reported in Camberwell
According to an article published by Nine on 28 October 2025, a young family of four was confronted by armed offenders during a residential break-in in Camberwell. The intruders reportedly used hammers to smash through a window and a back door before 3:00 am.
Nine reports that the 46-year-old father encountered the men in his living room, where he was allegedly threatened with a cricket bat. The suspects subsequently fled the scene in the family's white Jeep Cherokee. Although the vehicle was tracked via an AirTag, the signal was lost after the device was discarded.
Security footage captured three men casing several homes on the street prior to the incident, jumping fences and inspecting vehicles before selecting their target. Investigators have since returned to the area to conduct inquiries with local residents. The father noted that while the property damage was significant, no family members were physically injured during the confrontation.
Ensure all entry points to your home are properly secured and consider installing visible security measures to deter potential intruders.
