According to an article published on 6 June 2025 by Hulllive, a gang of burglars targeted a private home in Hartoft Road, Hull. The intruders gained entry by breaking the rear door, causing significant damage that included removing roof tiles and damaging a ceiling.

Hulllive reports that the property was turned upside down during a messy search. The burglars escaped with ยฃ4,000 in cash and jewellery valued between ยฃ7,000 and ยฃ8,000. Karwan Ahmed, 42, of Woodbine Close, Hull, later admitted to the burglary at Hull Crown Court. Forensic evidence, specifically blood stains found at the scene, linked Ahmed to the crime. He claimed he was accompanied by two other individuals during the incident.

The occupier, who returned home to find the trail of destruction, expressed deep shock regarding the event. Ahmed, who had previous convictions, was involved in the burglary as part of a joint enterprise. The court heard that the repair costs for the damaged rear door alone amounted to ยฃ2,000.
